You Can Always Win!
People in conflict often start their self-assessment of their “chances to win in court” with an assumption: “I’m right, and everyone else will eventually understand the obvious.” It should go without saying (but it bears repeating) that if everyone in conflict has that same analysis, at least 50% of people in conflict are likely to be disappointed when “eventually” happens. And the reality is that often everyone is disappointed unless solutions are found outside of court (like in mediation).
Keep in mind what American humorist George Ade (1866–1944) said:
Anyone can win, unless there happens to be a second entry.
